Prepare for Blooms & Water !

Prepare for SPRING / SUMMER!

London-based designer, Roksanda Ilincic

Photobucket

Though we can hardly believe it ourselves, spring formally begins next week. Obviously, we are head over heels for every last new apparel and accessory trend—watch this space for the deets—but today we are going to discuss another staple of the season: swimwear. Specifically, the new standout suit collection by London-based designer, Roksanda Ilincic.

Typically, when you mention the word “swimsuit” or, even worse, “bikini”, amongst a group of gals, it causes an outburst of dreadful cries. However, there is something so totally chic while non-intimidating about Roksanda Ilincic’s fresh designs that it seems to hush our deepest poolside fears. Maybe it’s due to the many one-piece offerings in the collection or the color-blocking, piping and French lace detailing of the suits that give us such a confident outlook. Whatever it is, we’re not complaining! Slip into one of our two favorite styles—the halter Albia and ruffley Rafiya, shown above—before your next beach venture and you definitely won’t feel like a fish out of water!

We needn’t provide a spoiler alert that floral prints are star players of the spring season: pretty petals of all shapes and sizes are in full boom everywhere you look! A less than expected but totally wowing take on the trend, Peter Pilotto’s scuba-inspired Floral Dress has us yearning for a seaside escape!

An oh-so-fresh runway catch, we netted this body-con number right off the catwalk to act as an ultra-modern muse to our seasonal wardrobe. Constructed of fine silk and cotton with an impossible-to-miss graphic design, it is one of many oceanic-themed picks from Peter Pilotto’s spring collection. Want to translate some deep sea-level style into your own look? Rock a like-minded printed dress dress with an oversized tote, strappy sandals and slicked-back ‘do!

Cuff Cuff

Photobucket

HAPPY FRIDAY! :)

Sometimes statement necklaces get all the attention. Not that we don’t love them, nor do we deny their ability to transform an outfit, but let’s not forget about other jewel box gems in the focus-stealing family. Case in point: Pamela Love’s Arch Cuff!

We can always depend on the pioneering Pamela Love to satisfy our accessory-driven desires, and this widened star cuff—along with her entire spring collection—is no exception. Designed in lustrous brass measuring six inches in length, it is a true game changer in one’s jewelry arsenal as we move into the new season. Keep it on stand-by at all times to glam up your daytime uniform or chic out an evening ensemble. Never be afraid to look a little cuff around the edges.

Designer Car (Fiat / Gucci)

Opps not selling cars just info sharing :)

Designer car

How about a designer car?

The Fiat 500 raises its cool quotient further with this special edition from Gucci. '500 by Gucci' celebrates 150 years of Italian unification as well as the 90th anniversary of the Florence-based luxury brand.

Two glossy pearl glass paint finishes - black or white - are available for this 1.4-litre model. In case that's not enough to stand out in a traffic jam, Gucci's classic red and green stripes and 'GG' monogram have been applied to the bodywork too, or in the case of the 500C convertible, to the folding canvas roof.
Inside, the two-tone seats are covered in Frau leather while a velvety finish adorns the dashboard for a touch of glamour.

Vuitton
LOUIS Vuitton's Monogram and Damier Graphite canvas watch cases ($975 each) are the perfect travel accessories if you want to bring more than one timepiece with you when travelling. Both feature soft luxurious microfibre lining and can hold up to three men's or four women's watches.
An eight-watch case ($6,700), that can easily go from safe to suitcase, is also available for longer trips (or if you have a bigger collection).
The rectangular shape replicates the look of LV's signature trunks, complete with S-lock with key and leather trim reinforced with rivets and golden brass corners. It also has a removable tray to store other valuables.

Montblanc
To celebrate the 190th anniversary of the chronograph, Montblanc has released the very limited-edition Nicolas Rieussec Horological TimeWriter.
Weighing 19kg, the table clock has one face for the conventional time of day or night, a chronograph with separate clockworks, and a watch-winder that's pre- programmed to wind an 18-carat rose gold version of the Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Automatic Limited Edition that comes with it.
The entire ensemble is ensconced inside a metal case with vertical satin-finishing on its front and the case is kept under a glass dome to protect its mechanisms against dust. Only 19 sets are available worldwide.

Erwin Sattler
THE Custodia Temporis ($162,426) sideboard by clock manufacturer Erwin Sattler might boast classic looks with its wooden finish but hidden in it are two wood-framed trays with state-of-the-art winders for eight watches.
They are tucked away until a remote control activates them and come complete with two USB interfaces for its owner to transfer information about the winding rates and direction straight to the winders.
It also has a roomy interior and two drawers inside come with 42 compartments for the rest of your watch collection. Available at Timeless Gallery (Ion Orchard) and leading watch retailers like The Hour Glass, Sincere, and Cortina.

Omega
IN addition to the watch cases, wallets, bags, and small leather goods from their fine leather collection, Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega has now added an iPad sleeve for fans of the brand who are also techies.
Combining old-world craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, the iPad2 sleeve is hand-made from fine Italian calf leather and can be folded for use in either portrait or landscape orientation. It retails for $720 and is available in black or brown from Omega boutiques.

YELLOW - Trend of 2012

One of the big colour trends for the new year is YELLOW.
Regardless it's so bright like highlighter pen chic, as seen at Jason Wu, or a more girlish lemon shade, shown at Louis Vuitton, yellow seems will be a big hit in 2012.
At least on the runway it was worn from head-to-toe, so this trend is one for the very brave.

For those like us who is not such a huge fan of Yellow but love to be in the trend could just dip alittle yellow with accessories like the Alexander Wang - yellow handbags and DKNY Jeans [left] are championing the zesty-lemon-skinny-jean, which look fabulous worn with a casual grey sweater.

Stronger Burberry Prorsum

We were huge fans of Burberry, was and have been now.
Their signature trench coats definitely spell love for many like us.
Winter would be lonelier without them.
BUT .....

Burberry Prorsum seems to be in stronger presence on the red carpet in this year?

First on Leighton Meester (Yes we love her too) who surprised at Golden Globes in Jan 2011 in a Burberry gown.

Photobucket

Others in red carpet moments also included Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a Va-Va-Voom Navy dress in June 2011 and other few unforgettable moments of Burberry at Red Carpets.
Photobucket

----------------------------------------------------------

So with such a successful red carpet year under their belted trench coat it's no surprise that Burberry Prorsum are really promoting the evening dress now. The Pre Fall 2012 collection included at least four red carpet worthy dresses and that's a sure sign there will be more to come in their Autumn Winter '12 collection, which shows in coming February. Are you excited too?

Finale at Peter Som and Jason Wu

Spring/Summer 2012 has officially kicked off.

Did you see these two New York collections! Jason Wu and Peter Som both hit the runway on 9 Sept, presenting some jaw-droppingly sexy red carpet looks. At Peter Som it was all about thigh-high slits and slinky maxi skirts, while Jason Wu played with candy colours and gathered skirts. The most memorable looks were the finale dresses. Can you imagine Gwyneth, Diane, Zoe and Leighton on them?

Emilio Pucci Maxi Dress

When it comes to long, dreamy and detailed dresses, nobody does it better than Emilio Pucci. Channeling the ghosts of fashion's past with its stunning '70s aesthetic is today's loose-fitting silk maxi number.

Arguably the favorite look from the pre-season offerings for this floor-length frock. Crafted of delicate printed silk with long bell sleeves, ruffles and a high front slit—major!—it is simply exquisite. Want to convey your own Pucci-inspired ensemble in the upcoming season? Anne Hathaway

Selamat Hari Raya!
&
Happy Holidays!

We spotted Anne Hathaway the beautiful way as she is always be and we would so much like to share here :)

Anne Hathaway is Beautiful in McQueen

London premiere of One Day, and Anne Hathaway took to the red carpet in a white lace dress from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 collection. The red carpet was littered with reality TV stars last night (Age from Made in Chelsea went for orange feathers - subtle) but Anne out-classed them all in her ankle-grazing dress. The actress - who plays the film's heroine, Emma Morley - also wore Alexander McQueen to the New York premiere. Love the fact she's championing a British label, as she plays a Brit in the film.

Anne Hathaway Covers Interview Magazine

With less than a week until the release of One Day Anne Hathaway covers the September 2011 issue of Interview magazine. It is Mert & Marcus photographed cover. - it's something different from the usual Anne. Also, if you look quickly one would easily tot that it could be Liv Tyler!  One Day still hasn't had a London premiere (perhaps because of the riots?).

Do you like Anne Hathaway's Interview magazine cover?

I have been feeling the buzz of excitement in the local fashion scene for months now ever since H&M made its announcement.

Now it is (finally!) happening! I mean opening H&M Singapore.

Our appetites were whetted further when they allowed a sneak preview of the Fall/Winter 2011 collection , and when news of a collaboration between H&M and fashion giant Versace for their autumn designer collection hit the web. The wait is over now.

Mark your calendars, as come 3 September 2011, the massively popular H&M will open the doors of its 3,000-square-metre space that spans across three levels, located at Orchard Building to fans, officiating its Southeast Asian debut.

Stores get hip and happenin'

The one-stop-shop business model of department stores of yore is in trouble. As customers become increasingly spoilt for choice from smaller speciality stores, outlets which don't want to get mauled at the mall are upping their game to stay in it, reports MELISSA LWEE-RAMSAY

IF THERE was any indication that big department store shopping is out and niche buying experiences are in, Robinson's probably did not get that memo. With its new 1,932.38 sq m luxury concept store at Marina Bay Sands, it joins the ranks of several retail stalwarts that have spent the last year or so raising their game to maintain their hold on an increasingly fickle - and not at all loyal - clientele.

Fall Polish Preview

Fall Polish Preview

That is a fabulous approach to entering the new season! As someone who always pays close attention to details, many of us rely on well-polished nails to set the tone of the look throughout the year, too. A little manicure goes a long way! Right now, We are ready to stash summer's brighter hues for fresh fall shades - deeper tones, like vampy reds, midnight greens and feminine greys, along with pretty neutrals and cool metallics.

Head to your manicure session today :)
